New Medicare Advantage routine vision benefit effective Jan. 1, 2020

In 2020, we’re launching a new routine vision benefit for all Priority Health Medicare Advantage members, administered by EyeMed Vision Care. Nearly 134,000 individuals will be able to take advantage of this benefit, which greatly increases their access to routine vision care.

Under this new benefit, Medicare Advantage plan members will get a routine eye exam (including refraction), retinal imaging exam and $100 eyewear allowance each year.

To use their routine vision benefits, our Medicare Advantage members must see a vision provider within the EyeMed Select network. If a member chooses to see a vision provider not in the EyeMed Select network for routine vision services, the member will have to pay for those services out-of-pocket.

Non-routine vision services, including medical eye exams and injectables, will continue to be covered by Priority Health under the medical benefit. Members do not need to see a vision provider in the EyeMed Select network for these services.
