Priority Health launches new plan offering significant savings in West Michigan
(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – November 20, 2015) Priority Health is introducing a high performing network health insurance option for Kent County – Spectrum Health Partners – giving individuals an option to reduce their costs while receiving high quality care from one of the nation's top 15 hospital systems.
Spectrum Health Partners is being offered to individuals in Kent County who buy their own insurance directly. The advantage to this new plan is that it provides consumers access to high quality care at significant premium savings, 20 percent lower than the Michigan average. It provides full access to the broad Spectrum Health network including all affiliated hospitals, physicians and Orthopedic Associates of Michigan.
The Centre for Healthcare Research & Transformation's fall 2014 survey of 1,000 Michigan residents found cost issues were twice as important to consumers buying an individual health policy as the size of the care network, as long as quality remains high.
"High performing network plans continue to grow in popularity because of the pricing relief they provide consumers," said Joan Budden, chief marketing officer for Priority Health. "This network offers Kent County an incredible value, offering premium health care at a very affordable price."
In 2014, 52 of the 138 plans offered on the Health Insurance Marketplace (HealthCare.gov) were narrow network plans. That number is expected to grow to nearly 83 plans this year.
Priority Health is offering Spectrum Health Partners and a range of other plan options, from holistic care (which provides access to non-traditional medicine like acupuncture) to high deductible health plans, allowing consumers to choose which plan is right for them.
Other MyPriority plan options offered in Kent County are:
- MyPriority RxPlus
- MyPriority HSA
- MyPriroity Holistic bronze
- MyPriority Holistic silver
Members who enroll in these plans will get the benefit of coordinated care within one health system, health coaching upon request, and care management for those that are most at-risk for chronic health conditions.
"As a non-profit Michigan health plan, Priority Health has fought for nearly 30 years to keep health care affordable while improving the health and lives of Michigan residents," Budden said. "We are committed to offering individuals product options to fit their specific needs, no matter where they are in life, providing affordable access to excellent health care."
Priority Health encourages members to use tools, such as the Priority Health Find a Doctor directory, to ensure physicians are in the health system's network before enrolling in a plan.
